The Flavors of Chocolate

It wasn't too hard to think of a name for this new blog. As always, my mind was on one thing—food. Chocolate. Life is like chocolate. Different chocolates always hit different notes on your tongue. Everyday presents to us something new and unexpected, even seemingly insignificant matters. Perhaps you exchanged a few words with someone you've always respected from afar or haven't talked to in a couple of days. Maybe you noticed that the soil in your untended garden and between sidewalk cracks is host to a field of miniature clovers. With each passing comes change, as small as they may seem.

It's funny how the "weeds" in your garden can look like an enchanted forest simply a from a change in perspective! Dandelion leaves and miniature clovers never looked more intensely green. On a side note, I am loving the contract between the lights and the darks in this photo to emphasize the depth of field.

Chocolate comes in many flavors. It entices the palate with its variety. Sometimes moments in life are blissful like white chocolate: when you ace your exam for which you've studied relentlessly, make your first artisan loaf after much research, go for a run in the forest park while listening to the peaceful rustling of the foliage, and begin to notice the small seasonal flowers blossoming all over your neighborhood. The usual days—days that strike the perfect balance between small successes and small disappointments—are bittersweet. Some days, we all just reach our melting point, as trying times resemble a piece bitter dark chocolate. However, I believe that it is this quality of volatility that makes everyday significant in forming who we are.

Undeniably, life is as rich as chocolate. It is satisfying and filling, regardless of the cocoa content. My goal? It is to share and savor the richness of my chocolate life in all of its bitter and sweet glory.
