About Me

 Pastel: mellow and soft-toned.
First of all, I am a high school senior. I am alive on the west coast, fortunate to be able to live in an area where there is a perfect balance between suburban life and nature. I am a visual artist and get overly excited—about the vividness and symmetry of weeds, the haphazard (totally photo-worthy) arrangement of my desk clutter, the position of the stars against the silhouette of the trees. I am an athlete, enjoying many sports, fitness, and also being a general fanatic. I am an avid reader of magazines, blogs, and online deal forums. I am an amateur photographer and health-conscious cook. I am an erratically-thinking individual, as you can see by now).

I am a perfectionist (and therefore cautious), constantly striving to accomplish tasks to the best of my abilities. I am a constant worrywart, which comes with the previous trait. I am an insomniac, admittedly because of the common teenage affliction known as "senioritis" whose common symptom is procrastination. I am an insomniac because I enjoy all of my numerous hobbies too much and don't have enough hours in a day. I am slightly hearing-defective, but extraordinarily blessed to be able to compensate and be unique in different ways. I am socially awkward, thus more introspective and quiet. I am mindful, yet often absent-minded. I am extremely self-conscious and probably care too much about what others think, but I am slowly learning to letting go of these inhibitions.

Enjoying a foggy day at the beach.
I am always willing to try something new. I am always wanting to try something new. I am very open-minded. I am not picky at anything. I don't really dislike anything—or anybody—in particular. Most importantly, I am a runner, using my feet and a good pair of shoes to chase after both the person ahead of me and my dreams.

Forever passionate,
Victoria M.

Finally, after years of following dedicated and seasoned bloggers, wondering whether or not to start my own blog, intending to begin writing my first post, and worrying about the future, I did it. The Flavors of Chocolate was created.

How did it happen? One day, one of my favorite bloggers took note that the purpose of the activity wasn't to garner and worry about the responses of the public. She wrote that blogging was basically her photojournal. This inspiration helped me to overcome whatever qualms I had about starting a blog and helped me to finally take initiative.

Ever since my first post, I couldn't stop writing and coming up with new ideas. Thankful for this alternative outlet to no one in particular, I now have the motivation and confidence to write what is probably my most comprehensive autobiography.
